Tamayo print is a fusion of African and Asian inspired design with the afro comb which is a symbol of beauty and the Japanese fan which the top of the handle symbolises the beginning of life and the ribs stand for the roads of life which go in all directions to bring good fortune and happiness. The geometric patterns are typical of Adire print from the Yoruba cultural heritage of South- western Nigeria.
