Black hand woven bag

Each step of creating this bag: from the hand-dyeing of the yarn to setting it on looms; weaving; dyeing, washing and tailoring is completed by the women themselves, making it a truly community-crafted product that is aimed at considerably reducing carbon footprint. All of this is done at our various centers in Udala region Odisha.  The villages are all about 5-10kms and house the cotton farm, indigo farm, weaving, hand spinning, dyeing and stitching units.

Through the Mauna Dhwani Foundation’s initiative, these artisans have revived their ancestral skills and established sustainable livelihoods.
